Free ATS Resume Checker

Most resumes get filtered by software before a person ever reads them. Scan yours to see how an applicant tracking system reads it, and fix what trips it up. It is free, and nothing is stored.

We never store your resume. Scans run in memory and nothing is saved.

What is an ATS?

An applicant tracking system is the software companies use to collect and sort applications. When you apply online, your resume usually goes into one of these systems first. It parses your file into plain text, pulls out fields like your name and roles, and ranks you against the job description. If the parser cannot read your file, a recruiter may never see you.

How this checker scores your resume

The score is a weighted roll-up of six checks. Each one mirrors a common reason resumes get filtered out.

Contact details
The parser needs a clear email and phone number it can pull out. Fancy headers and text inside images get lost.
Standard headings
Plain headings like Experience, Education and Skills tell the system where each section starts.
Keyword match
Most systems rank you on how closely your wording matches the job post. Paste the description to see your match.
Quantified impact
Numbers, percentages and currency read as real results. Bullets without them look like a list of duties.
Length
Too short and there is nothing to read. Too long and the signal gets buried. Aim for one to two pages.
Clean format
Columns, tables and graphics confuse the parser. A single-column layout in real text survives it.

How to pass an ATS

  • Save as a PDF from a word processor, not a scan or an image.
  • Use one column. Skip tables, text boxes and graphics for layout.
  • Label sections plainly: Experience, Education, Skills.
  • Mirror the exact wording the job post uses for key skills.
  • Back each bullet with a number: a percentage, an amount, a count.
  • Keep it to one or two pages so the important parts stay on top.

Questions

Is the ATS resume checker free?

Yes. Scan your resume as many times as you want, with no account and no payment.

Do you store my resume?

No. Your file is read in memory to score it, then discarded. Nothing is saved to our servers.

Does it work for any job?

Yes. Paste a job description and the checker scores how well your resume matches that posting. Leave it out for a general read.

Can I upload a Word file?

Upload a PDF or plain text file, or paste your resume text straight in. For a Word document, export it to PDF first.

Is a high score a guarantee?

No. A high score means an ATS can read your resume cleanly and it matches the role. A person still makes the final call.
